If you do decide to order this pump after reading all the positive reviews, thinking you'll be luckier than all of us who gave it one or two stars, then I wish you all the best. I hope you have more consistency with your pump than I and countless others had. If you do buy it, remember to cover the solar panel when you take it out of the box so that it doesn't start working until you are ready. This pump worked great for 1 hour when I set up. Then the next day, it would only pulse water out of the tubing, even though I would have thought there was enough sun. I had located the panel in direct sunlight, securing it to the fence as it doesnt come with a stake to secure it into the ground. The next day was a warm clear blue sky day and the pump was working great....for 1 hour, then it went back to pulsing for no apparent reason. It hasn't worked properly since. I'm genuinely gutted because I thought it would be good enough for my tiny little water feature, but nope. Cheap quality, tiny pump which is not fit for purpose. Don't waste your money!

The media could not be loaded. This works grate on a sunny day. The suction power is great and it's wonderful. BUT, the slightest block of the sun, this will stop immediately. I wanted to return this but kept it for a week as I didn't had time to return it. Today the weather is sunny and cloudy and last night it was raining. To my surprise, it's working on and off. The sprinkler keep coming up and goes side ways so I managed to arrange it outside of the wildlife pond. The filter is lovely and keeps the pond clear. This review from Midlands and it might work better in London where the weather is bit sunnier. But if your place is wet and cold, invest something with solar battery storage.

Very impressive set up. Good quality solar panel with a decent length cable. I just wanted a bubbling trickle rather than a fountain. Using this with no attachments is how to achieve this. My little pot would have been too small for any of the fountain attachments (it would have sprayed outside the pot!). I used an old pot and placed a cut down bucket inside with some rocks and have just lodged the little square pump underneath so it splashes over and makes a nice gentle sound. Very pleased. I think I could have got away with a lower power model. The solar panel is amazing it runs in thick cloud and into the evening well after the sun has set!

Would not recommend. As there is no battery to store the energy this fountain is only useful if in direct sunlight. This means it's useless in winter and overnight. The product itself was well made and lasted the two days I used it before I realised it wasn't fit for purpose.

For the price it's great. I used this solar pump to create some surface agitation and a filter by padding it with filter wool and foam in a small cage and feeding the tube around a branch. It sits in a 65litre bucket pond and I clean the foam and wool every so often when it's all turned brown.It helped clear the pond quickly keeping the water clear shortly after adding new plants and disturbing the substrates. It works surprisingly well in direct sunlight, and put put puts away when shady, turning off in total shade. it offers enough for what I need. If its not fixed in place this could travel around and empty your pond so add a weight or fix it in place if using as a fountain - clean it every so often, and don't expect too much from a cheap solar panel!

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: After more than a year, pump is still working great. As long as you clean gunk out of the pump every so often, it will last a while. Honestly, I've only cleaned it three times so far. As soon as I put this out in the sun it started working. I am using it as a hummingbird fountain and it's perfect for that. I rigged up the fountain according to a youtube video I saw. Very easy assembly, the tubing that comes with it fits perfectly to the base of the pump. If you wanted to purchase additional tubing, the opening is right at 5/16". As you can see and hear in the video, it has a very strong flow coming up through the nozzle, I have the pump sitting at the bottom of an old planter and the water is pumping up through about 8" of tubing and is doing a pretty good job pushing water up and out at that distance. For a small pump, it is surprisingly powerful. I've had it for 2 months and I haven't had to clean the filter yet, but not much can get through the small holes I've made in the top cover, it keeps leaves and other debris from clogging filter. Two months later, it's still working very well. I also observed the fountain working in complete cloud coverage on a few occasions. It wasn't coming out as high as it was in the video, but it was a steady flow, to be honest, it is not the norm, most overcast days it does not work. The still photo was taken in the rain and you can see how well it was pumping out. The video was taken on a sunny day, but in a partly shaded area. It doesn't work at all at night, but it's not expected to, it has no battery back up. I would definitely purchase another one.
