The media could not be loaded. It didn't work at first but followed the tips in the product support and it needed to be held upside down under water to get the air bubbles out! Nice little fountain that only works when sun is out but not usually outside when it isn't sunny anyway!

I cleaned the filter cleaned the straws but to no avail. Principle good so will get a replacement but a more expensive reliable one.

Update at the end of June 24. Sadly, AFTER I ordered another three! The fountain simply stopped working at all. I tried to contact the support site but it doesn’t exist. I see from the reviews that this is quite common. I wish I’d been more careful. Original review: - This is a jolly neat little device that does the job well. The problem is, it does it too well, so you do need a wide container to put it in because it will empty most others. It comes with several choices of jet or fountain, all of which do send water splashing outside the container if it’s too small. We’re now looking for something like a wide bowl, perhaps two feet or more. The helpful straws do keep it in the middle, but even with them extended, the container has to be even wider than that.

The media could not be loaded. I saw this on an instagram post and thought it was cute for the kids and managed to find this one on offer at less than £15. It arrived on time and well packaged. All parts were included and it was very easy to put together. The size is standard for these I think and fits most medium plant pots. My video shows me testing it in a large plant pot to make sure it worked. As you can see, when the sun is fully on it, it powers up well but it does need direct sun ideally. The solar panel does not store power so it will stop when cloudy or in shadow. There are different heads to attach and all easy to put on and take off. You are given 4 sticks to slot in to keep it from moving but I haven't used these as like it free floating. Would be ideal in a massive planter or pond as the water does spill over the sides and then you need to ensure you keep it topped up. I haven't needed to clean it yet buy full instructions are included and the parts disassemble easily. I'm happy with the quality of the fountain considering its price and our use so far, time will tell as to longevity. It keeps the smallest happy periodically in the garden. The sound is nice when it runs, calming. Based on all the above I would happily buy it again and recommend.
